As long as you don’t drop it, it will work just as well -and sound just as good- as comps that cost a lot more. Again, good for beginners and less demanding applications, probably not a good fit for professional use. Update Unrecognized Zip Code. Back View Show More Less. The limiter also seems rather soft, which also prevents user error from making a signal sound wrong. Not specified by manufacturer. For what it’s worth, I have seen claims that the older non-“Pro” Behringer comps were actually autoco better than the autofom “Pro” models. Includes peak limiter, de-esser and dynamic enhancer. The compression seems to be a bit less than the interface controls would suggest, which makes it difficult to over-compress a signal and unacceptably degrade the signal.
Overall, this is a unit that is hard to make mistakes with.
If you need something that provides acceptable performance with a minimum of potential pitfalls and high ease of use, this is a good unit. Applicable to recording, mixing or mastering, the unit provides total dynamic control. The compression action is pretty decent and versatile.
Behringer gets a lot of hate for making cheap Chinese copies of gear from other “better” brands; but to be fair, a lot of that commentary including from me is about ideasnot about the actual sound or longevity of Behr’s products. It dynamically un-compresses high frequencies in proportion to the overall compression applied, which allows a brighter, more articulate sound. It is easy to use and to set up to get a nice sound output.
